A handful of things have shipped at Beta Briefing

Watch the 30-second tour, then read the details below. Most of this is already running quietly in your daily briefing — some you can opt into when you've got a minute.

Already powering your briefing

Smarter recurring stories. Your briefing now remembers what it covered over the last month. When a story keeps developing — a deal that takes a week to close, a confirmation hearing across multiple sessions — it threads through your updates instead of restarting each morning. And when there's nothing genuinely new on a story, your briefing skips it instead of repeating yesterday's beats. The result: less repetition, more continuity, and a sharper sense of what actually changed today.

Worth trying

Tweak your briefing in plain English. The portal has a Smart Edit page where you can just say what you want different — "add more on AI policy," "drop the sports stuff," "always tell me what technical acronyms stand for" — and Smart Edit works out the config edit. Faster than menus, every change undoable. Not sure what to change? Paste your briefing into your favorite chatbot, ask for suggestions, and feed those into Smart Edit.

Discuss any story with an AI. When you read your briefing on the website, every story has a "Discuss with AI" link that drops the source into a chat with the model of your choice — useful for the headline that needs more context than the briefing itself can fit.

Recap on demand. Want a weekly or monthly synthesis of where the stories you care about ended up? Reply to your briefing email or message Adam and we'll set you up with a recap on whatever cadence makes sense.

Telegram pings. If you'd rather get a "your briefing is ready" notification on your phone than dig through email, link Telegram in your portal Settings. Per-briefing on/off, no spam.

Subscribe as a podcast. If your briefing has a public channel and an audio version, it publishes as an iTunes-compatible feed. Find yours on your channel page — for example, betabriefing.ai/channels/first-light/podcast.xml — and paste it into Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Overcast, or your podcast app of choice.

Premium audio voices. If you regularly listen to the audio or podcast version of your briefing, you can upgrade from OpenAI's default voices to ElevenLabs — warmer, more expressive, more options. Reply to your briefing email or message Adam if interested.
